John Wilson per ship Georgiana assigned to John Bingle, charged with neglect of duty. Mr. John Tucky, overseer to Mr. Bingle states - The prisoner John Wilson is employed as a shepherd; on Saturday evening last being informed that he had lost some of his flock I went and counted them and found that there was 7 short of the proper number. Wilson states that three were taken when dogs rushed his flock and that they divided in various directions. 3 of the 7 above have since been found dead much torn.....As it is probable that a flock of sheep might be rushed by native dogs in a bush country this Bench decides that the prisoner shall have the benefit of the doubt but caution him not to rely upon such a doubt in future
